Time is running out for £1.000.000 Lotto winner from Newcastle under Lyme

Despite the best efforts of the National Lottery officials to reunite winners with their prizes, it doesn’t work out every time. They’re still hoping it will in the case of one resident of Newcastle under Lyme. This mystery player won £1.000.000 back in January and they have less than a month left to claim the prize.

It’s been almost six months since this fortunate punter matched the Millionaire Raffle code JADE 4169 9261 on January 17th, but that’s still the only thing we know about them. Secretive lotto enthusiasts didn’t make an effort to get in touch with the National Lottery, probably because they’re not even aware their ticket is worth £1.000.000. It’s set to expire on July 16th and if they don’t come forward until then this enormous fortune will be lost forever. Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at the National Lottery, urged the players from this area to check their old tickets again and try finding the ones that could be missing.

“We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win,” said Carter and advised players to check through their pockets, wallets, bags and even down the back of their sofas, because they might be sitting on a fortune without even knowing it.

Lotto prizes in the UK must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date. If no one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline, the prize and all the interest it has generated will be directed towards the National Lottery Fund, which helps finance hundreds of good causes around the UK.
